If you want to work at your own pace and don’t want your trash sitting at the curb while waiting for a pickup, an on-site dumpster for your home or jobsite is an affordable option. It provides secure, private storage. Because you have 24/7 access, you don’t have to rush. Another advantage is the ability to retrieve something if it gets tossed out by mistake.
If you only have a small project and a few items that you cannot put in your regular trash cans or recycling bins, a junk hauling service might be a better solution for you. When you call us, we’ll help you find the right trash management option.
A dumpster is a large trash receptacle on rollers. Generally, a truck delivers a roll off bin to your site and collects it when your project is done. The cost of renting a dumpster depends upon your location, the size you rent, and the weight of the material you put into it.
At Discount Dumpster, we care about your budget. Our flat-cost pricing structure helps you keep your project expenses under control. Our helpful team can advise you about the weight of hundreds of items, so you can decide which container is best for your site. Discount Dumpster has the right roll off container to secure and dispose of your unwanted or damaged items.
Usually, you can place a 10 yard dumpster in your driveway or on your property without obtaining a permit. However, rules and regulations differ from city to city, and it’s best to consult your local government. If you live in an area that has an HOA, you should also consult the managing authorities.
If you must store the dumpster on the street or in an area that blocks a sidewalk, you may need a right-of-way permit. Contact the Town of Bingham Farms for detailed information. The office is at 24255 Thirteen Mile Road, Suite 190, or you can call 248-644-0044. The office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
While you can use a roll off bin to dispose of most construction debris and household waste, there are some exceptions. Bingham Farms in Oakland County is very environmentally friendly, so there are local laws prohibiting hazardous waste from disposal in a dumpster. Some banned items are insecticides, fertilizer, gasoline and oil, medical waste, car parts, and paint. Batteries, electronics, and CFL bulbs are other examples of hazardous items. If you need to throw away prohibited materials, contact Discount Dumpster or the city authorities for instructions.
You may be able to recycle some items, including asphalt and concrete. If you want to use a dumpster for recycling, you’ll need to refrain from placing anything other than the recyclable material in the bin. For more information on recycling, please contact the SOCRRA Administrative Office at 248-288-5150 for their hours of operation and locations.
