In Dallas, whether or not a permit is necessary to rent a dumpster depends on where you intend to place the dumpster. You are not required to obtain a permit if you place the dumpster on your own property.
If you live in a neighborhood, you may also need to get permission from your Homeowners Association (HOA). However, street placements are generally prohibited in Dallas, TX. Please research the parameters of Dallas permitting in regards to dumpster placement.
Dumpster rentals are ideal for hauling most types of waste like cabinets, flooring, wood, and more. However, some items are prohibited:
SOD is allowed for disposal, yet only in our 10 yard dumpster.
Dumpsters CANNOT be scheduled for placement on streets. This is due to the zoning laws in the Dallas area. Any delivery scheduled for street placement will be refused by drivers.
If you schedule a dumpster to be placed in your yard, it CANNOT be located on a grass lawn. In fact, our dumpsters are not allowed to be placed on grass at all. Be sure to plan a delivery spot that is not a street or does not have grass.
Unfortunately, no. The Dallas area DOES NOT allow for dumpsters to be delivered on weekend days. Our optimal day for delivery in this case would be Friday. We can arrange delivery dates earlier in the week, of course.
Just keep in mind that there can be no weekend delivery. This is determined by the procedures of our drivers and local ordinances in the Dallas area. Give us a call for more details on delivery schedules in your area!
Mattresses ARE ALLOWED in your dumpster. Many different places have rules in place prohibiting the disposal of mattresses in dumpsters. Some localities may allow it, yet usually for an added fee.
If you live in the Dallas area, then you’re in luck. You can safely dispose of your mattresses in your dumpster without any extra fees attached. Call and ask if there are any specific requests our drivers may have in terms of mattress disposal.

Landscaping waste is allowed for disposal. SOD can be disposed of as well, yet only in a 10-yard dumpster. Do not place SOD in a dumpster larger than 10 yards
Discount Dumpster offers a standard 14-day (two week) rental period. You do not have to keep your dumpster for the entire 14 days, however. If you finish your work early, call us and our driver can pick it up. There is no extra charge for returning a dumpster early!
If you need to hold onto your dumpster for longer than the 14-day period, an additional charge per extra day will be added to the final cost.
