(20 feet long x 8 feet wide x 4 feet tall) – 8 pickup trucks
Our 20 yard dumpster is one of the most popular sizes we rent. It measures 20 by 8 feet and stands 4 feet tall. It is your go-to for most big home improvement, remodeling, and estate or hoarder clean out jobs. Contractors, roofing companies, and construction pros use this size for many projects as well. It’s easy to load with its low profile and back door access. It’s large enough to get the job done, but still fits nicely on a residential driveway. Its large capacity holds the equivalent of 8 pickup loads of trash (about 120 large contractor trash bags).

A permit should only be needed from Kansas City if you need to place your dumpster on a street or any other public-right-of-way. Kansas City authorities usually don't require a permit for dumpster placements on private property. However, if your property is governed by any kind of HOA, you will need to secure the HOA's permission first before you can proceed with placement.
As much as we would love to say yes, we cannot unfortunately. Discount Dumpster can't guarantee any specific delivery or pickup times. Our usual delivery/pickup window is 6 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Friday. You are welcome to put in a request for specific times and our staff will do their absolute best to accommodate the request, if possible.
20 yard dumpsters are perfect "middling" sizes. This means they aren't too small or too big, and can be utilized for both residential and commercial projects alike. However, we wouldn't recommend, a 20 yard dumpster for simple junk clearing or heavy-duty construction work. A 20 yard would be best suited for a larger residential project such as a remodel or smaller commercial project like cleaning out an office or strip-mall.
A dumpster that is overfilled will not be picked up by our haulers come the day of pickup. This is due to safety reasons, as an overfilled dumpster can have its contents fall onto roads and streets. This puts other motorists and pedestrians at risk of injury. If a dumpster is overfilled, the pickup will be rejected and you will be charged a costly trip fee for our driver's effort.
An overweight dumpster will have additional charges applied per extra ton once the dumpster is weighed at the landfill. You will be responsible for the extra charges.
