A container from Discount Dumpster provides secure storage for a large amount of junk and waste. With an on-site bin, you have 24/7 access whenever you need to use it during your project. Our standard rental period is two weeks, but we can make changes so you have the bin as long as you need it.
A dumpster gives you control over your schedule and workflow. It allows you to work at a pace that’s comfortable and easy for you. If you need help with some heavy items and have to wait for a friend to assist you, you have plenty of time. It’s also private; your waste isn’t waiting at the curb for a junk hauler to pick it up. If you should put something in your dumpster by mistake, you can retrieve it.
If you have only a few items to dispose of that won’t fit into your regular trash bin, you might want to use a junk hauler. A collection service can also take care of appliances with special handling requirements.
If you’re still undecided, we are here to help. Just give us a call at 855-573-3867, and our experienced staff will help you determine which option will work best for you.
A few significant factors go into your final rental price: city and state, final weight, and dumpster size. You may not feel comfortable guessing the weight of your construction materials or household trash, so let our expert staff help. Just explain what you plan to put into your dumpster, and we can give you an honest estimate.

If your dumpster can be placed on your property or in your driveway, you will not likely need a permit. However, if you live in a neighborhood that is governed by a homeowners’ association, you should check the bylaws for restrictions on visibility. Neighborhood associations in places such as Valle Verde Estates, Pajarito Acres, and Vista Del Rio may have different regulations than South Valley or Bernalillo County.
You may need to apply for a right-of-way permit before placing a dumpster on a public access area, such as a street or sidewalk. For current information, please contact Bernalillo County at 505-247-1750. The office is located at 809 Copper Avenue NW in Albuquerque. Discount Dumpster’s knowledgeable staff can answer your questions as well.
You can use your dumpster to dispose of most trash and debris, but not hazardous materials or recyclables. If you want to recycle electronics, you may be able to send them back to the manufacturer. Asphalt may also qualify for recycling. Please be aware that concrete and asphalt shingles for recycling require a dedicated load, so you cannot combine them or put other material in your dumpster. Prohibited items include aerosol cans, pesticides, asbestos, dangerous chemicals (e.g. Freon), batteries, fuels, motor oil, varnish, and whole tires. You can get a complete list of banned materials from Discount Dumpster. You can dispose of these items at designated drop-off locations in Albuquerque and/or Bernalillo County.
