When you call to set up delivery of your rental dumpster, we will discuss your desired placement of the container at your site. If the container will fit entirely onto your private property, then in most cases, a permit is not needed.
However, sometimes there is not enough room at your site to fit the dumpster container. In that case, we’ll deliver it onto the street. If the dumpster will impede any traffic or right-of-way access, then you may need a permit from the Building Division of the City of West Palm Beach.

Overfilling your rental dumpster container can cause a delay in pickup. Our operators cannot transport a dumpster with waste that protrudes above the top of the container. An overfilled dumpster is also likely to exceed the weight limit. If your dumpster is overfilled, we will ask that you either remove some of the trash or rearrange the waste to get it below the top line, or you may be charged a fee. To make sure everything fits when loading your dumpster, work from the front forward and do not fill it above the top rail of the container. Our largest containers have back door access, so you can walk your trash into the container and easily stack it so that it is below the top rail.
Many of our deliveries are onto a customer’s driveway. We typically don’t see any issues with this placement. But we do understand that you might be concerned about the container causing damage to the concrete surface of your driveway. A heavy dumpster load on an older driveway could result in cracking. To be safe, you can put down plywood where the steel wheels of the container will sit during your rental period. A large piece of lumber can be placed over the driveway along the path the wheels will run during delivery and pickup. You also have the option of street placement, but you may need a permit from the City of West Palm Beach in this case.
When our area gets heavy rainfall, it can accumulate in your dumpster container. This adds to its overall weight and could lead to an overweight fee. When your dumpster is picked up at the end of your rental period, it is tipped up onto the truck. This allows most of the water to run out. However, there may still be some accumulated water in the container. To prevent this, you can cover the dumpster with a tarp or plastic sheeting if there are forecasted storms in your area. This will limit the amount of water trapped in your dumpster.
Discount Dumpster’s normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, with limited hours on Saturdays. Delivery and pickup on weekends is not guaranteed.
