Before renting a dumpster, it’s important to make sure you follow all the regulations. Your HOA may have certain rules about where you can place your dumpster, for example. If you can store the container on your driveway, you might not need to get permission from the city or county.

Chesterfield County offers free disposal services for a variety of household hazardous waste at the Northern Area Convenience Center, which is located at 3200 Warbro Road (off Hull Street or Genito roads). The standard drop-off hours are Friday through Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is also the Southern Area Convenience Center, which is located at 6700 Landfill Road (turn by United Rental on Iron Bridge Road).
