Madison's Best Roll Off Dumpsters Since 2018

When Madison needs a dumpster rental or waste removal services to take care of their trash, they know who to call. We've been the top dumpster rental provider in the area since 2018. Our quality containers and fast and affordable service make us

Junk Removal Services Can Cost More Than Dumpster Rentals

In most cases, a junk hauler charges based on the amount of trash collected, so it can be a good option for a few large pieces of furniture or items that require special handling, such as refrigerators. However, the cost can quickly skyrocket if you have a lot of trash to throw away.

Renting a roll off container for your home or jobsite gives you easy access to a secure place to store your trash.

With an on-site dumpster, you can work at your own pace and have the time you need to sort through your things before discarding them. With our low rates, you’ll save money and enjoy the flexibility of controlling your own workflow.

How Much Does A Dumpster Rental In Madison Cost?

We save our customers $50 or more on each rental

We know that cost is one of the biggest factors in your decision to rent a dumpster, so we keep our prices low and explain everything so you know exactly what you are paying for. The cost of your rental is based on several things: the bin size you choose, the weight of your trash, the length of your rental, and your location.

You don’t have to wait until your project is done to find out how much you owe for your roll off container. We give you an up-front quote for a standard two-week rental period. This price includes everything - delivery, pickup, taxes, and landfill fees.

You never have to worry about hidden markups or surprise charges. If you need more than 14 days, we can accommodate your schedule. Call us to get more information about changes for long-term rentals.

Each roll off dumpster comes with a pre-determined weight limit, and your rental costs are based on the weight of your trash, not the volume. Our experienced staff can help you estimate the weight of debris from your project, so you get the right container size. If you go over the estimated weight, that's totally fine! But the extra fees we incur at the landfill will be billed to you.

DUMPSTER RENTAL RESOURCES

Do I Need a Permit for My Dumpster in Madison?

In most cases, the placement of the dumpster determines whether you need to apply for a permit. For example, you probably won’t need to get a permit if you can keep the dumpster on your own property and off of any public access areas.

If your neighborhood has an HOA, there may be restrictions on where you can place a rental dumpster. We deliver to many different neighborhoods in Madison, so we can help you figure out the best placement location.

If you can’t fit the container on your own property and need to place it on a street or other public area, you’ll probably need to apply for a right-of-way permit. You can find and print out the form for a permit from the City of Madison website. If you have any questions, please call the City Offices at 608-266-4558.

We are also happy to help with any permit questions you may have!

Are There Things I Can’t Put in My Rental Dumpster?

Federal EPA regulations and Dane County laws prohibit disposal of hazardous materials in a rental dumpster. To protect yourself, our operators, and the community, please keep dangerous items out of your dumpster:

The Dane County Clean Sweep facility can handle most types of hazardous waste. You can also contact the county or our customer care team for details on how to recycle some items. For example, you may be able to find many electronics manufacturers accept e-waste for recycling. It’s important to keep recyclables clean and free of contaminants such as food debris.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Throw Away Roofing Materials in a Roll Off Dumpster?

Yes, if the roofing material is clean asphalt shingles. However, if you plan to use a dumpster to store roofing materials for recycling, you must keep all other trash out of the container. Only asphalt shingles, nails, and tar paper can be included in the load. Our expert team at Discount Dumpster can estimate the weight of your shingles using aerial photographs. Be sure to let us know if you have more than one layer of shingles on your roof.

Does Dane County Recycle Styrofoam?

There is a way to get rid of Styrofoam (polystyrene material): You can drop it off at the City of Madison Streets Division at 1501 W. Badger Rd or at 4602 Sycamore Ave. You can call 608-267-2626 with questions about polystyrene recycling. The city accepts several types of polystyrene material, including bulky packaging pieces, coolers, egg cartons, disposable cups, and food containers. You may not drop off packing peanuts or Styrofoam insulation at the Streets Division.

Outside the City of Madison, Reynolds Urethane Recycling handles Styrofoam recycling. You can contact the facility at 608-906-4244 to get information about drop-off locations.

Where Can I Recycle Electronics in Dane County?

It’s important to recycle electronics, such as televisions, computers, and cell phones, in order to reuse the valuable materials that make up the internal components. You should not dispose of electronics in a dumpster or at a landfill. You may contact the manufacturers of your electronic devices to learn about recycling options.
The City of Madison has two e-waste self-service drop-off sites that operate year-round: 4602 Sycamore Ave and 1501 W. Badger Road. Standard weekday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Saturday, the facilities are open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For some electronics, you may need to pay a recycling fee.

Do You Deliver Dumpsters in Madison on Saturdays?

We suggest calling us ahead of time to see what our availability is. We may not be able to guarantee Saturday delivery, yet if its possible we can absolutely set you up for that!

Do I Need a Permit To Park My Dumpster Rental in the Tenney-Lapham Area?

The Tenney-Lapham area of Madison, WI, will likely require a permit for your dumpster. It’s also a good idea to contact your Neighborhood Association, because many HOAs have rules that supersede City of Madison requirements. If you have any questions, please call the City Offices at 608-266-4558.

How Do I Dispose of Agricultural Hazardous Waste?

Agricultural waste such as herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, and wood preservatives can’t go in your dumpster. The Dane County Clean Sweep program accepts most agricultural waste and chemicals (e.g. DDT, Captan, Chlordane, and Heptachlor) along with veterinary supplies, solvents, and engine cleaners. To dispose of dangerous chemicals, make an appointment at the Dane County Clean Sweep program by calling 608-838-3212. Standard appointment days are Tuesday through Friday.

Can I Recycle My Construction and Demolition Material?

Discount Dumpster will gladly handle all your construction and demolition waste, and we will sort and recycle it. The load in your dumpster must contain 60% or more of recyclable materials: wood, aggregate, unpainted drywall, metal, and cardboard. Sample items include cabinets, vinyl siding, concrete, tile, sheet metal, pipes, plywood, lumber, and bricks. We can also accept cardboard. If you have questions about your construction debris or demolition waste, contact Discount Dumpster for assistance.

What Should I Do if My Dumpster Rental Has Rainwater?

Rainwater and melting snow can affect the weight of your dumpster, but not by very much. The doors on the dumpster will be closed when it is picked up, and the container isn’t watertight, so most of the rainwater will drain out. If you have porous items in the dumpster (mattresses, box springs, or upholstered furniture), they may retain water, but the extra weight is minimal and unlikely to put you over the weight limit. If you are concerned about water in your dumpster, you can always purchase a tarp to cover your roll off container until it is picked up. We suggest covering your dumpster if your local laws require it or if you can easily use the tarp for other things later.

What About Disposing of Pressure Treated Lumber?

If you have a deck, porch, picnic table, raised garden bed, or a child’s playset made before 2004, it is probably made with lumber treated with CCA (chromium, copper, and arsenic). This toxic chemical can leach into ground water and was once prohibited in landfills. Today, there is an exemption for CCA lumber, and most landfills will accept it. Protecting the health of its citizens and the environment is a core value of Dane County. You should consult with your local landfill and recycling station for more information.
