Disposal Resources:
Most dumpsters have a fill line inside to help you stay under the weight limit. The best way to fill your dumpster is to put bulky items on the bottom and fill in the gaps with smaller items. It’s also a good idea to flatten or break down items (if you can) to distribute the weight evenly.
TVs are electronic waste, known as e-waste, and many electronic devices contain toxic substances such as lead, mercury, beryllium, and cadmium. All of these are harmful to the environment, so there are strict regulations about disposal. Other e-waste items include computers, laptops, LCD monitors, VCRs, stereos, printers, copiers, fax machines, and cell phones. You can drop off electronic items at Computer Revival, which is located at 3954 North Oracle Road. Standard hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. If you have questions, call 520-888-8100.
Tires require special disposal even though they are not necessarily considered hazardous. Most tires contain steel pieces that can puncture landfill liners, creating the potential for ground contamination.
Both Tucson County and Pima County have facilities that accept tires. The Tire Collection Site is located at 5301 W. Ina Road and operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Pima County Tangerine Road Tire and Green Waste Facility is located at 10220 W. Tangerine Road. Its hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The City of Tucson Los Reales Landfill (5300 Los Reales Road) also accepts unwanted and damaged tires. You can also dispose of up to five tires with the City of Tucson Environmental Services Brush & Bulky Service that runs through town multiple times a year.
This depends. There are cases where emergency deliveries on Saturday is available. It is a case-by-case basis, however. You will have to ask your local authorities for an emergency Saturday delivery permit.
If you are approved for emergency delivery on Saturday, there is a $200 fee attached to this. The fee will only apply if you are approved for the delivery, of course. Be sure to ask your local authorities about the details of approval for emergency delivery on Saturday.
Heavy items are NOT allowed in your dumpster. This is determined by the procedures of our local drivers. If you have any heavy items such as concrete, brick, mechanical equipment etc., then they must be disposed of elsewhere.
If heavy items are placed in your dumpster, then it will likely be refused for pick-up by our driver. Once a delivery or pick-up is refused, a trip fee of $200 will be added to your final bill. Be sure to place heavy items elsewhere to avoid pick-up refusal.
