Cleanup is a breeze with a dumpster rental at your home or job site. Many will be curious about the cost to rent a dumpster, which is only natural. Rest assured, renting a dumpster saves you money over other types of waste removal. Instead of multiple runs to the landfill with expensive dump fees each time or hiring a junk hauler to come multiple times while you work.

Dumpster Rental Pricing National Average

The average cost to rent a dumpster range from $300 to $1,500. The price you’ll pay depends on several factors: the size of the dumpster container, your location, the type of debris, and the length of the rental period.

While national averages give ballpark ideas for general pricing, prices will always vary by region. Breaking down regional pricing can be more complicated. However, it is not impossible.

National Average Price Range for Dumpsters:

10 cubic yards – $295 - $400

15 cubic yards - $350 - $450

20 cubic yards - $400 - $600

30 cubic yards - $500 - $700

40 cubic yards - $600 - $850

When you call to order your dumpster, we’ll review our prices for your specific location. We offer competitive low rates on all dumpster sizes. Compare us to other dumpster rental companies to see how much we can save you on your waste disposal costs.

Dumpster Prices by Region

The exact dumpster rental cost depends on where you are located. Prices may vary based on differences in fuel costs, landfill and environmental fees, hazardous waste fees, and seasonal availability in different parts of the country. Some areas have higher fees and taxes due to local and state regulations or recycling requirements. Prices also tend to be higher in urban locations versus suburban or rural rentals. We are highly competitive in each region we serve, so you can feel confident you are receiving the lowest rates in your area.

Dumpster Fees

Included in your dumpster’s flat rate rental charge are all fees and taxes. Each load dumped at your local landfill is charged a dump fee. There may be different rates for different types of trash and debris. Inert materials separated out from biowaste is often charged at a lower rate than typical household waste. If your dumpster container has recyclable material, there could be a small recycling fee.

The cost of your dumpster is based on the size of the container. Each size dumpster starts with a low flat fee. Your quote can be customized to include a longer rental period if you need more time to complete your job.

Seasonal availability can also affect the rate charged for a dumpster rental. Summer months see higher demand due to an increase in demolition and construction work. There is also more demand after a natural disaster such as a hurricane, tornado, or earthquake. Call early in your project planning to get the best prices and availability on a rental dumpster.

If your dumpster is overweight, you could be subject to an overweight fee. After your dumpster is picked up at your site, it will be transported to the landfill. The truck is weighed upon entry to the landfill. After dumping the load, it is weighed again as it exits the landfill gates. The difference between the two weights is the actual weight of the waste load.

Weight Limits for Each Dumpster Size

10 cubic yards – 2-3 tons

15 cubic yards – 2.5-3.5 tons

20 cubic yards – 3-4 tons

30 cubic yards – 4-5 tons

40 cubic yards – 5 -6 tons

Dumpster roll off containers that are overweight may be rejected at the landfill or incur an extra charge. This overage fee is explained when you call to order your dumpster.

Finally, the final price of your dumpster could increase if we are not able to pick up the roll off container on the scheduled pickup date. If the dumpster is inaccessible or improperly loaded, we will have to reschedule pickup and may charge for the extra days.
