Placing a dumpster on your own private property, like a driveway, does not require a permit. If your neighborhood is governed by an HOA, you may need to contact your HOA in order to get special permission to have a dumpster on site.
If your dumpster has to be placed within a right-of-way, such as a street, alley, or sidewalk, then a Right of Way Encroachment Permit would need to be obtained from the City of Johns Creek. The Right of Way/Utility Services Department can answer any questions regarding right-of-way encroachment permits and we'll also be happy to provide any assistance.
