Permits for the Town of Lakeside are issued by Jefferson County. A "right-of-way use and construction" permit is required when placing a dumpster in a public right-of-way such as streets, gutters, and alleys. In this case, permit applications cost around $50. You cannot arrange permits for arterial streets, or for mixed-heavies to be placed in a street.
No permits are required for a dumpster placed on your private property or job site. County regulations prohibit a dumpster from being placed on a sidewalk, in a no-parking zone, or in a temporary loading zone.
